Practice Focus & Background

Born in Bulacan, Philippines, and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Joi joined OWZW Lawyers LLP as a summer student in 2025 and is now completing her articling requirements as a Student-At-Law.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts with Great Distinction at the University of Saskatchewan in 2023. Passionate about advocacy, Joi pursued a law degree at the University of Saskatchewan, where she obtained her Juris Doctor in 2026.

In law school, Joi represented the University of Saskatchewan at the regional MacIntyre Cup (Western Canada Trial Competition), a criminal jury trial competition as well as at the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, an International Court of Justice competition. Her mooting experiences strengthened her interest in litigation and reinforced her passion for advocacy.

Outside the office, Joi likes spending time with family and friends, taking care of her plants, and catching up with her favourite TV shows.
