One of our senior partners, Perry D. Erhardt, Q.C., acts as pro bono counsel advising the RIIS (Regina Indian Industrial School) Commemorative Association Inc., and recently helped them with a land transfer from the federal government and RCMP to ensure that the sacred land holding the bodies of dozens of Indigenous children would remain in the care of the RIIS Commemorative Association. The cemetery lands were previously designated as heritage properties. The land transfer to RIIS represents an important step in the path to reconciliation, and ensures that the memories of the children and the impact of the industrial school will not be forgotten. Our firm is honoured to have played a small part in these events, and we are committed to the journey toward reconciliation.

2017 marks 40 years of serving clients in Regina and across Saskatchewan for Olive Waller Zinkhan and Waller!

In 1977, four founding partners established a general practice law firm in Regina, and they soon became leaders in advising clients in the cooperative and private sectors. Areas of expertise were developed over the years in corporate transactions, financing and litigation as the firm grew in number and diversity. We now stand at 20 lawyers strong, and work to foster a collegial and collaborative workplace.

Community partnerships have been a hallmark of OWZW as it has sponsored and co-sponsored major events in support of the Regina Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and many others. This tradition of providing a hand up continues at our firm.

Please join us in celebrating our 40th anniversary! We look forward to a future of opportunity and continued work with you. Cheers!

The lawyers and employees in our office raised money for the United Way GenNext Group’s “Cookie Walk”. OWZW purchased enough cookies to be declared the ‘top cookie buying law firm’. Proceeds from the United Way’s Cookie Walk will be used to build literacy kits for early childhood development programs in Regina.

OWZW’s very own Nemo Datsyuks are once again participating in the annual Shooting Stars Foundation Sticks on Rose Street Hockey Classic. For the second consecutive year, OWZW was a Top 5 fundraiser for the event and was able to participate in 104.9 The Wolf’s Entry Draft live on the air.

The Nemo Datsyuks will be joined this year by Jordan Eberle of the Edmonton Oilers! Funds raised from this year’s tournament will be going to the Saskatchewan Brain Injury Association and OWZW is proud to support this local charity.

OWZW is a proud sponsor of Pride Week, which is from June 15-21 2015. Check out www.queencitypride.ca for more details on the numerous events in Regina.

Celebrate this exciting week of festivities. Be you and be proud.

OWZW is pleased to announce that the Attorney General of Saskatchewan Gordon Wyant has awarded Queen’s Counsel appointments for 2014. Among those honoured with the designation is Patricia Quaroni.

The Queen’s Counsel appointment is awarded to lawyers for their exceptional hard work and dedication to the legal profession in Saskatchewan. OWZW is extremely proud of Pat on receiving this well deserved honour.

Congratulations Pat!

Tom Waller is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the North American Indigenous Games 2014. The North American Indigenous Games is an international celebration of indigenous youth, sport and culture. It is expected to bring over 6,000 althetes, coaches and supporters from all over North America to Regina in July 2014.

OWZW’s very own “Nemo Dat – syuks” will be dusting off their hockey sticks and participating in the Shooting Stars Foundation 7th Annual Sticks on Rose Street Hockey Classic. Funds raised by the OWZW team will be donated by the Shooting Stars Foundation to local initiatives, making a difference for children in our community. OWZW encourages its lawyers and staff to support local charity and wishes good luck to everyone!
